Spindle Ecology is owned and managed by Sarah Maslen, a specialist Ecological Consultant with over 10 years’ experience in the sector.
Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Ecology and Management of the Natural Environment and is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). Her previous project experience covers a range of development scales and sites across England, Wales and Scotland.
Over the past 10 years, Sarah has worked on a diverse portfolio of onshore renewables (solar and wind), water industry (pipelines and treatment works) and housing projects, as part of interdisciplinary project teams.
Sarah has developed considerable expertise in baseline ecological survey and reporting and has extensive experience of overseeing on-site construction works. These skills are transferable and opportunities to work in new sectors are welcomed.
The native Spindle Tree Euonymus europaeus is the inspiration for the consultancy. With its bright, pink seed pods and orange seeds, it makes a bold statement and stands out amongst its peers.
